Workshop on Developing a Blackboard

The Department of Mathematics at Central Michigan
University is organizing a two sessions of workshop on
how to use the Blackboard to develop a course web
site. Main focus will be on developing a Blackboard
site for quantitative courses such as Statistics and
Mathematics. This workshop is in part supported by the
NSF/CCLI Grant #0310932. The workshop is open to
instructors at Central Michigan University.
Session One will be at introductory level. Functions
of the Blackboard will be discussed. Basic development
of a blackboard will be given.
Session Two will be the continuation of Session One.
It will focus on more advanced functionality of the
blackboard, including web equation editing, handling
images and graphs, virtual classroom setup, on-line
group management, online test development and others.
Participants are encouraged to bring material for his
or her courses to develop a Blackboard site for their
courses.
TIME:
Session One --- 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm, November
4th, 2003.
Session Two --- 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm, November 11th, 2003.
Location: The Woldt Computer Lab.
